Sunday Adult Program: “Why B’Mitzvah? A Conversation About Preparing for One’s B Mitzvah”

December 13 @ 10:00 am - 12:00 pm

Or Emet’s Sunday adult programs are free and open to the public and meet concurrently with the Jewish Cultural Sunday School.
Today’s program, “Why B’Mitzvah? A Conversation About Preparing for One’s B Mitzvah and Why Anyone Would Go to All That Trouble,” will be led by a panel of recent B Mitzvahs.
Many Or Emet members had the distinct pleasure of attending one or more of the four student B’Mitzvahs held this past summer. In this program, those eloquent students will join us in a panel to share their experiences preparing, choosing a topic, what helped — or hindered — the process, and what it all means to them now that it’s over. Those attending will be invited to consider and share what kind of experience marked their own “coming of age.”
Those who cannot attend in person may join over Zoom. Zoom registration information will be added closer to the event date.
We continue to collect empty pill bottles and personal care items for clients at Listening House, a St. Paul drop-in center. Donations are gratefully accepted at all Shabbat and Sunday programs.
Or Emet is a secular congregation celebrating and honoring Jewish culture, history and values from a humanistic, inclusive perspective.
