Welcome to Or Emet

Or Emet — the Minnesota Congregation for Humanistic Judaism — is grounded in Jewish culture and offers a meaningful Jewish community for secular Jews and others who love to learn about and celebrate the richness of Jewish culture, history, values and traditions.

Based in the Twin Cities, Or Emet is centered around humanism, a philosophy that holds that people make the human world the way it is independent of supernatural authority, and which embraces reason and science as the paths to knowledge. We welcome interfaith and multicultural families and individuals.

Our members include secular Jews, cultural Jews, unaffiliated Jews, atheists, agnostics, and wondering members of many different religions and backgrounds.

Our Jewish Cultural Sunday School provides students ages 3 through Bat/Bar Mitzvah (B Mitzvah) an opportunity to be part of a Jewish community while learning about Jewish culture, values and history as documented by scholarship, rather than as told in religious texts.
