Community and Belonging

When you become a member of Or Emet, you join a smart and caring community where you’ll forge meaningful connections and build lasting friendships. As part of our Humanistic Jewish congregation, you’ll find kindred spirits who share your perspective on identity, culture, and beliefs. Your Or Emet membership also automatically includes membership in the Society for Humanistic Judaism, connecting you to the larger movement of people celebrating Jewish identity and culture through a humanistic philosophy.

Or Emet welcomes everyone: young and old, singles and families, intercultural families, and the LGBTQ+ community. Your unique story enriches our diverse tapestry.

Spiritual and Cultural Growth

Or Emet engages both heart and mind, supporting you through life’s pivotal moments. We celebrate life cycle events including births, b mitzvahs, and weddings, while providing thoughtful, heartfelt funeral and memorial services. Deepen your connection to Jewish heritage through our adult education programs, featuring expert speakers from our membership and the Twin Cities community who explore Jewish history, culture, values, and traditions along with other relevant topics through a secular humanistic lens.

Next Generation

Our Jewish Cultural Sunday School provides your children with age-appropriate education in Jewish history and traditions. Through engaging activities, they’ll explore their identity as secular humanistic Jews in the modern world.
