DESCRIPTION:Or Emet’s Sunday adult programs are free and open to the public and meet concurrently with the Jewish Cultural Sunday School.\n\nToday’s program\, “Getting to Know Us\,” will be facilitated by two surprise guest stars from the ranks of Or Emet’s membership.\n\nWe will have a lively and fun interactive program to give all of us\, at all life stages and ages\, a chance to get better acquainted with others in our Or Emet community.\n\n\nThose who cannot attend in person may join over Zoom. Please register in advance for the Zoom option.\n\nWe continue to collect empty pill bottles and personal care items for clients at Listening House\, a St. Paul drop-in center. DESCRIPTION:Rabbi Eva Cohen of Or Emet\, the Minnesota Congregation for Humanistic Judaism\, will lead a three-session “Intro to Judaism Through a Humanistic Lens” course in Small Meeting Room 1 at Sumner Library\, 611 Van White Memorial Blvd.\, Minneapolis\, during the following dates and times: \n\nSunday\, Oct. 4\, 3-4:30 p.m.\nSunday\, Oct. 11\, 3-4:30 p.m.\nSunday\, Oct. 18\, 3-4:30 p.m.\n\nFor a full learning experience\, participants are encouraged to attend all three sessions.  \nSumner Library was built in 1915 to serve North Minneapolis’ Jewish community\, and for a period of time housed all of the Minneapolis library system’s Hebrew and Yiddish books. Learn more about Sumner Library’s history. \nCohen received rabbinic ordination from the International Institute for Secular Humanistic Judaism in May 2024.
